I know, I haven't published something new on my website or on youtube for quite a long time now. One reason is that I'm currently working on my bachelor thesis. I'm writing a program, which generates a virtual top view on a car out of four fisheye camera images. The software uses OpenGL and GLSL to do the view transformation, so it makes use of GPU acceleration.
I made a small animation in Blender to simulate the four cameras. I use the technique described here to achieve the fisheye effect.
This is a first picture of the output of my algorithm:
I'll upload the whole simulation as a video soon.
DSP-Weuffen is the company I'm currently working for.
Models I used:
Old Woman - Johannes Gietl
BMW M6 - Fred C. Mule jr. 'tyrant monkey'
Nissan 300ZX Fairlady - 'tahseen'
Chrysler 300c - ?
Mailbox - Matthew Muldoon 'mofx'
I will make some new animations, art works or tutorials, when I'm finished with my bachelor thesis. That will be in the middle of november. I plan on experimenting a little more on stereoscopy. And there are so many new features in Blender 2.5 I haven't tried out, yet. So there is definitly some new stuff to come... but unfortunately not anytime soon.
